Welcome to Sugar Island Hawaii, where artisan confections are lovingly handcrafted on our family farm in beautiful Pepe'ekeo, Hawaiʻi. Every treat we create is made in small batches using fresh, premium ingredients and time-honored techniques—because extraordinary candy begins with extraordinary care.
Sugar Island Hawaii is the dream of mother–daughter team, Elaine Beckstrom and Tara Roark. What started decades ago as Elaine’s tradition of making holiday candies for friends and family grew into her lifelong passion. As a master chocolatier with over 50 years of experience, Elaine brings unmatched expertise, artistry, and heart to every recipe.
Today, our candy kitchen is a true family effort. Tara oversees the magic, while her husband Kelly, our resident Marshmallow Master, joyfully crafts our signature marshmallows and plays with new fudge creations. Whether stirring molten caramel or whipping cloud-soft marshmallow, every member of our family has a hand in bringing Sugar Island Hawaii treats to life.
We are committed to using only the finest ingredients—from rich Callebaut Belgian chocolate to fresh cream, real butter, tropical fruits, and pure island flavors. Our slab-creamed fudge is made through a meticulous, labor-intensive process that results in an impossibly smooth, indulgent texture. It’s a lot of hard work… and absolutely worth every moment.
